Confirmation

What is Confirmation? Confirmation marks the point in a persons spiritual growth where they wish to make a stronger commitment to their Christian life. The service is carried out by a Bishop who will lay hands on the candidate and ask for the Holy Spirit to be upon them.

Getting Confirmed

We hold a confirmation service each year either at St Thomas' Church Lydiate (our sister church ) or here at St Cuthbert's. Which church is used depends upon the number of candidates.

Both St Thomas's and St Cuthbert's have a very good relation ship with all the church schools and there is a team who go each year to prepare the children for confirmation. If your child doesn't go to one of these schools but would still like to be confirmed then please contact the Rector. Similarly, if you are an adult and you now feel that you would like to make a stronger commitment then confirmation can be arranged for you too. Again, please contact the Rector for more information.
